Plant based eating

What is plant-based eating?

It is a diet consisting mostly of plant-based food and no animals, you are not necessarily vegetarian or vegan but live by the principle of eating whole foods and plant-based food as your main source of nutrition.

One of the most popular quotes and one to live by is from Hippocrates “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

Let look into the science

Scientific research was highlighted in the book The China Study showing that a plant-based diet can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, certain types of cancer, and other major illnesses. Many other studies have shown animal protein increases the growth of cancer including cow milk protein (caseins).

When moving to a plant-based diet, we then have to consider genetically modified crops and pesticides. Which is why it is important to eat organic where possible and avoid GMO food.

A lot of people have concerns over not getting the right proteins and nutrition from plant-based eating along, it is important to get a variety of whole foods within the diet and to consider speaking to a nutritionist before making the switch.

Little Munchkins provide some important nutritional benefits including plant based proteins, vitamins and minerals.
